When you're trying to scale content/achieve goal for your TikTok strategy, studying what the best in your industry is what I typically recommend and personally do for clients/personal project (track hooks to sound selection and editing techniques, etc).

For those who've come across this guide I've created and you're in the sports/outdoor space, you're going to love these brand examples I've collated and analysed for key takeaways/learnings.

Author note: In these TikTok brand example guides (like this one), I'm sharing key takeaways of things I personally notice and quite like from each account. Obviously, there's loads more to analyse when you properly dive in, but I'm just here to curate/share what I noticed.
And quickly on my research method - I found most of these sports/outdoor brands through TikTok's ads library (there are numerous more to discover there too, as well as industries, etc).

1. Rebel Sport

With over 140K+ likes on TikTok, Rebel Sport has become a go-to for sports equipment, apparel, and footwear across all kinds of fitness and outdoor activities.

What I love about Rebel's content:

  • Their most viral video (hitting a massive 3M+ views) captures a hilarious scene of Santa Claus playing around with their sports equipment (proof that seasonal content with a twist can perform well).
  • Most of their videos are filmed right in-store featuring actual employees (which helps create this authentic behind-the-scenes vibe that followers love).
  • The content mix spans from behind-the-scenes footage and POVs to practical gift ideas that actually solve shopper problems.
Key takeaway from me: Bringing physical retail space and team members into your TikTok strategy creates authenticity that product-focused content can't match.

2. Mizuno Golf

With an impressive 435K+ likes on TikTok, Mizuno Golf has built their reputation on high-quality golf clubs and gear that delivers on performance, precision, and innovative design.

The genius of their approach:

  • A standout UGC video with over 115K+ views featuring a real golfer demonstrating their clubs in action (which just feels way more authentic than staged product shots).
  • Their golf shot vids low-key promote their equipment without feeling like ads - such a smart way to showcase products in action.
  • Mizuno's strategy of posting highlights and snippets from various golf championships puts their brand right in the middle of the action.
My main insight: Showcasing your product in real-world action creates engaging content that resonates with serious enthusiasts.

3. MAAP Apparel

While still growing with 8K+ likes on TikTok, MAAP Apparel is quickly making waves with their high-performance cycling clothing that balances technical innovation, style, and sustainability.

What caught my attention about MAAP:

  • Top-performing content features cyclists in motion, wearing their gear in real riding conditions (which is exactly how you want to see cycling gear before buying).
  • The channel gives off this documentary-feel with snippets of interviews with actual cyclists - stands out from typical product-pushing accounts.
The lesson here: Consistency in visual quality/authentic content (in the case here with athletes for MAAP0, helps creates a cohesive brand story (even with modest engagement).

4. Mud Hole Custom Tackle

Really love what Mud Hole has been doing with their content.

Mud Hole Custom Tackle offers supplies for building and repairing fishing rods, and they've somehow managed to rack up an impressive 2.5M+ likes on TikTok!

Why I follow them:

  • Videos have this natural, engaging feel with real interactions between employees (makes you feel like you're hanging out in their workshop).
  • Mud Hole showcases fishing rods crafted by participants in their rod-building classes - great way to turn customers into content creators.
  • The entertaining fishing videos spotlight their products in action, proving niche technical products can perform well on TikTok.
  • Honestly, I don't even fish but I find myself watching their videos because they're just satisfying to watch! (shoutout to those doing their socials).
Key takeaway from me: Specialised technical products can find massive audiences when you focus on community aspects of your niche.

5. 2XU

With over 30K+ TikTok likes, 2XU has made a name for themselves specialising in high-performance sports apparel, particularly their compression wear that enhances training and recovery.

What I love about 2XU's content:

  • Heavy reliance on user-generated content that feels entertaining and genuinely engaging (way better than overly polished brand content I see from some brands).
  • Been a fan of their practical bag-packing tutorials and those creative videos showing how many snacks can fit in their tights (addressing real everyday athlete problems).
The big lesson: Practical utility content combined with relatable everyday athlete moments creates a balanced mix that both entertains and solves problems.

6. Storelli Soccer

Storelli designs advanced soccer gear focused on injury prevention and performance enhancement for players of all levels. They're doing great on TikTok with 430K+ followers and 6.5M+ likes!

What I think makes Storelli's content so successful:

  • Smart approach of creating two separate playlists - one for products and another for educational content (helps viewers find exactly what they're looking for).
  • Most viewed video (approaching 9M+ views!) provides valuable goalkeeper tips with zero product pushing.
  • Storelli positions themselves as educators first, product sellers second (you can tell they actually want to improve your game).
Key takeaway from me: Becoming a trusted educational resource first creates stronger engagement than primarily promoting products.

7. Fanatics

Fanatics offers a massive selection of licensed sports merchandise across basically every sports league you can think of. Their TikTok numbers are impressive - 5M+ likes and almost 400K+ followers!

Why their strategy is brilliant:

  • Top video (with 10M+ views!) features Brock Purdy autographing caps (which taps into that sports fan excitement we all know).
  • Content variety ranges from Super Bowl predictions and street interviews to their popular "Will-They-Sign?" series.
  • Absolutely love how the thumbnails are consistently well-edited with clear, readable text overlays that stop the scroll.

To be fair, I've been on their email list for ages too, and they're just as good with their email marketing - always hitting me with the perfect offers right when my team wins big games. Their cross-channel strategy is next level.

My biggest insight: Creating repeatable content formats with different athletes creates a sustainable content engine that keeps delivering results.

8. Swim Outlet

With almost 5M+ likes on TikTok, Swim Outlet provides a wide range of swimwear and gear serving swimmers of all levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.

What I think works well for Swim Outlet:

  • The channel is filled with humour that swimming enthusiasts find genuinely relatable (you can tell they actually understand swimmer inside jokes).
  • Beyond entertainment, Swim Outlet provides practical advice on enhancing swimming skills (positioning themselves as helpful experts).
Key takeaway from me: Niche-specific humour combined with helpful tips creates a community feeling that general sports content simply can't match.

9. BAUER Hockey

BAUER has established itself as a leading name in high-quality hockey equipment and gear. Their TikTok growth is impressive – 490K+ followers and 13M+ likes!

The magic of BAUER's approach:

  • One of their most viral videos (hitting 4M+ views) is this simple clip featuring hockey players lined up, all sporting blonde hair, with a perfect sound choice (sometimes the simplest ideas just crush it).
  • BAUER's mastered the art of repurposing championship content, posting regular highlights and snippets from real hockey games.
  • Funny moments from hockey games get transformed into memes - shows they understand TikTok culture.
What you should take from this: Leveraging humour and existing sports content can be more effective than elaborate production-heavy videos that feel staged.

10. COBRA Golf

With over 15K+ likes on TikTok, COBRA Golf has built their reputation on innovative golf clubs, equipment, and technology designed to enhance players' performance.

What caught my attention about COBRA:

  • All video thumbnails are beautifully curated with readable text overlays (they know first impressions matter on the FYP).
  • Content consistently features captivating footage of golfers executing impressive shots (letting those product results speak for themselves).
  • The camera work and production quality in their golf shot videos is exceptionally smooth and professional (maintaining that premium feel even in casual TikTok content).
Key takeaway from me: Maintaining premium production values even in casual TikTok content reinforces a luxury sporting brand's positioning while still feeling authentic.

11. Heybike Inc

With TikTok likes exceeding 75K+ likes, Heybike Inc specialises in electric bikes offering innovative, eco-friendly transportation solutions for modern outdoor enthusiasts.

Why they're worth watching:

  • Video content organised into separate playlists for each product category - makes it super easy for shoppers to find what they're after.
  • Top video (70K+ views) features a popular TikToker genuinely excited about receiving a new bike (nothing beats that authentic creator excitement).
The lesson here: Partnering with authentic creators and demonstrating product versatility helps customers envision using the product in their own lives.

12. Moxi Roller Skates

With a solid 575K+ likes on TikTok, Moxi has built a following around their vibrant roller skate designs that combine style with serious durability.

What makes Moxi's content so effective:

  • Videos have this casual, fun, and light-hearted vibe showing real people enjoying skating (makes it feel like you're watching content from friends rather than a brand).
  • Blown away by their organised playlists spanning "roller skate adventures" and "meet Moxi" to detailed "learn about Moxi skates" content.
  • Moxi highlights unique features while showing skates in action - creates desire without feeling salesy.
My main takeaway: Showcasing the joy around your product rather than just the product itself builds a stronger lifestyle brand that people want to be part of.

13. Billabong

This iconic surf brand has built up over 590K+ likes on TikTok with their surf and lifestyle apparel content targeting those passionate about board sports and beach culture.

What Billabong is doing right:

  • Most popular video (240K+ views) engages everyone in the comments by asking "which icon should we bring back?" (such a smart way to spark conversation).
  • High-quality surfing videos on their page showcase not just their products but the entire lifestyle they represent.
The big lesson: Nostalgia marketing and community engagement questions can drive comment activity and boost reach beyond your core followers.

14. Cyrusher Bikes

Cyrusher has been making waves with their innovative electric bicycles focused on performance and adventure. They've built a good TikTok presence with 105K+ followers and 200K+ likes!

What's working for Cyrusher:

  • One top performer (70K+ views) features a creatively edited clip of someone hopping on their bike paired with a trending sound (shows they're keeping up with what's hot on the platform).
  • The brand builds trust through comprehensive content spanning detailed reviews, feature deep-dives, and practical explanations of how their bikes function.
  • Gotta say I'm impressed by how they leverage YouTuber review snippets to build credibility (such a smart cross-platform play).
Key takeaway from me: Educational content about technical products performs well when addressing specific customer questions while maintaining entertainment value.

15. Dynamic Discs

Dynamic Discs has established itself as a leading provider of disc golf equipment with a focus on quality, innovation, and community support. Their TikTok account has gathered more than 210K+ likes!

Why I'm a fan:

  • Dynamic Discs created a library of captivating disc golf videos with commentary (really positions them as the voice of the sport).
  • Practical how-to tutorials aim at helping viewers improve their disc golf skills (solving actual problems players face).
The lesson here: Becoming the educational voice of an emerging sport category builds both authority and engagement while driving product discovery naturally.
